Artist Introduction

 

Mr. Ng Beng Nam born in 1964,  he began to Tremolo harmonica in his age of 5 and Chromatic harmonica in age of 7; at the age from 7 to 9 years, been seleted by "MOE" as a representatives, on behalf of the National primary schools, to perform at "Singapore National Theater", with pupils from different countries; Due to the outstanding performance in music, at his age of 9, he received his "Special Education Student Award", in particular plans to "the Ministry of Education Music Teacher activity Group" studied Music composition, Trumpet and Percussion Musical instruments; 13-year-old, he returned to harmonica orchestra, was recommended to the then "Singapore Harmonica Society," became the youngest member then; 14 years old, by recommended to "National Library Board" to Mr. Tanimura, as the local representative on his "Asian New Age Music group" ; in 1979 (15 years old), he has been selected to join the Singapore Youth harmonica group "Xinqing harmonica group " as a Lead performer.

 

1985 Mr. Ng joined the "City Chorus",also as the same period,he study under music professor Yang Hong Nian(杨宏年) on "choral conductor", just because Mr. Ng also work in SBC- Singapore Broadcasting Corperation, he learn his program Production and Sound Recording technology there. 

 

Mr. Ng went to Taiwan in 1992, he form a local organizations "Qing sheng ya yun she", a music academy in Taiwan and began to train professional singer until 2004. during the years, Mr. Ng also find time to study in Europe, he learn his "professional singing teaching" in Italy in 2003; and been honer his "Orchestra study" qualification in 2002.

 

Mr. Back to his home in 2006, and began to set up some singing groups, work with Harmonica Ensembles and instrumental groups till Then.

Mr. Kho Chek Hin started to played the harmonica at the age of 7. in the year 1978, he joined the "Ho Chong Wing Harmonica Ensemble" and also came under his guidance. from 1980 onwards, he joined the "Ho Tat Chiew HarmonicaEnsemble" and has since been active in performaing at various harmonica events organized by HAS.

Phiharmonica Ensemblewas established in 1985, a harmonica group that specializes in Classical and old sentimental music. all the players are active in local harmonica music performance, and with many years of experian in harmonica performing. it is a popular and also graded as one of the best harmonica ensemble in Singapore.

Mr. Ong Gim Dee fell in love withthe harmonica at a veryyoung age.in 1976, he become a private student of Mr. Ho Chong Wing. in 1985 he gave his first recital concert at the victoria ConcertHall. In the year 2008, He had been active since and recently pursued many new ideas in the instrument with today's world leading and renown classical harmonica maestro like Mr. Sigmund Groven and Mr. Joe Sakimoto from Japan.

Mr. Ho Tat Chew, local celebrity of harmonica, also the current adviser of the "Singapore harmonica Association," , he came into contact with Tremolo harmonica in 1952 and in 1963 began specializing in the chromatic harmonica. Mr. Ho has a deep harmonica music background. not only has held himself in several Harmonica Ensemble playing the lead, he is also the local's most famous harmonica team wins mentor, taught at more primary and secondary schools, polytechnics, NUS, NTU in their harmonica groups, but also to assist the local community center and a plurality of clan organization harmonica ensebles and their orchestra, Mr. Ho is the more times the representative of Singapore to participate in the exchange will be more than a few harmonica and regions.
